This is the website of York Photographic Society, York's longest established photography club and indeed one of Britain's earliest photographic societies. New members are always welcome to this thriving, friendly and energetic camera club. Our meetings are held at the Poppleton Centre. Guests may join for an evening for a fee of £5 each.

David Hawkshaw

I’ve been a photographer since being given an Iloca range finder camera by my father as a lad.  My natural focus is on people, but over the years my interest in film making has grown to the point where that is very prominent in my photography.

Some people drawn an arbitrary line between “still photography” and what they like to call videography, but for me it is still “photography” and just a different way of telling a story where one image cannot convey the whole story.
