York Photographic Society

This is the website of York Photographic Society, York's longest established photography club and indeed one of Britain's earliest photographic societies. New members are always welcome to this thriving, friendly and energetic camera club. Our meetings are held at the Poppleton Centre. Guests may join for an evening for a fee of £5 each.

Competitions

York Photographic Society runs several competitions throughout the year in the following categories:

  • Projected Digital Images Competition

  • John Saville Rosebowl - pictures that characterise what the City of York has to offer

  • Mono Print Competition

  • Colour Print Competition

  • Leatt Cup - for panels of three images

Note: These categories may change due to various factors such as submission rates or other environmental issues.

Submissions

Digital competition entries must be sent in the correct format to Kris Brown at yps@kris.me.uk

Print competition entries with digital copies must be sent in the correct format to Morris Gregory at morris@salmor.net

YPS is affiliated with the YPU and encourages members to enter YPU competitions and exhibitions which can be found on their website.
