27th April 2016 - "Follow the Foss" and "The Yorkshire Dales"
Team Challenge night folks. This next Wednesday, and NOT Friday as in the Programme.
If the images below are anything to go by we are in for a fantastic evening of interesting and beautiful images.
We have two presentations, as follows:
1. Follow the Foss
presented by Morris Gregory CPAGB, Allan Harris, Rob Swallow and Roger Mockridge
We have gone out as a team and also separately on several occasions to record our vision of the Foss from it’s nominal source at Oulston Reservoir to it’s confluence with the Ouse at the Blue Bridge. The concept was not to just record the river, although we have done some of that, but to use it as a starting point for photographic exploration. Each of us has our own view and style which we think is evident in the photos we will be presenting. There is a mixture of wide landscapes, together with more intimate details of the river and it’s surroundings, presented in both colour and monochrome. Early on in the process we were approached by the River Foss Society to present to them in October 2016 so we will be doing that with a broader selection of photographs. Our intention is to continue adding to our body of work over the coming months in order to provide an even wider range of work to select from. I think each of us has found the team challenge an interesting idea which has provided a focus to our photography and a reason to go out and take photos whatever the weather (almost).
The Yorkshire Dales
presented by John Shepherd FRPS, Mary Chatburn, Derek Chatburn and Harry Silcock
They will be showing a varied selection of images from their trips to The Dales including people and places, with plenty of Sheep !!!!! Baa, this will be a peaceful presentation by four Golden Oldies.
