Selby Abbey and its stained glass Malcolm Woodcock 4th January

Malcom says of himself

“I have had a lifetime interest in photography where I have tended to concentrate on architectural subjects and landscapes, though I'm often distracted by street scenes. For many years, I was a member of Bishopthorpe Camera Club. Since retiring I have developed a keen interest in stained glass and have spent many hours travelling to churches to study and record the art and now have a collection of several thousand photographs of the subject.”

And of his talk

“ “Selby Abbey and its stained glass”. This will be a general introduction to the stained glass, the message and symbolism of the artists as seen in the windows of Selby Abbey. I hope to look at the context and the characters depicted in the glass”
