This is the website of York Photographic Society, York's longest established photography club and indeed one of Britain's earliest photographic societies. New members are always welcome to this thriving, friendly and energetic camera club.

Team challenge part one - 27th January 2016

Two of the project teams will be sharing their pictures and their experience with the Society.

First up is "Beamish, a Trip Back in Time"

Beamish is a photo journey around the sights and people who live and work in this museum set around different parts of a large site in the North East of England. There are three YPS members on the team: Don Proud, Brian Jackson and Peter Bayliss. We have met with the challenges of a busy tourist location, dark gloomy interiors and bright sunny days.

"The seaside: Bridlington"

The seaside: Bridlington is a photo essay on the different aspects of the town and the tourists that spend their vacations on the coast. There are two YPS members on the team: Alison Taylor and Jaime Raynor-Joyce and each explored new areas of photography in exploring the different topics"
