This is the website of York Photographic Society, York's longest established photography club and indeed one of Britain's earliest photographic societies. New members are always welcome to this thriving, friendly and energetic camera club.

And We're Off...

The new York Photographic Society season for 2015/2016 is under way. Last week we held an Open Night on the theme of "My Favourite Images" where members were invited to submit three images and to briefly describe them.

As ever, a range of themes were seen many images had an interesting backstory too.

We welcomed many potential new members and YPS hopes that you enjoyed the evening and decide to join the Society as full members.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 16th September when YPS member Antony Ward will be giving a presentation entitled, "Not Just Birds".

York Photographic Society meet on Wednesdays between September and May at the Poppleton Centre. Meetings begin at 7:30pm and we usually have a chat and catch up in the Poppleton Centre Bar afterwards. There's plenty of (free) parking in the Centre car park and we always welcome new members or if you fancy coming to see one our lectures, you can pay a small, one-off entrance fee for that night. You can read more about YPS membership here.
