York Photographic Society

New Season Starts 6th September. Full 2017-2018 programme published

This is the website of York Photographic Society, York's longest established photography club and indeed one of Britain's earliest photographic societies. New members are always welcome to this thriving, friendly and energetic camera club.

This week, last week, the week before that and two weeks before that

This week we welcome members from Selby Camera Club for their reciprocal visit after John Illingworth, Allan Harris and Russell Watkins were hosted by them a month or two ago.

Two weeks ago, Mike Deverell took us Around the World via Kenya, India, Japan, Namibia, Yellowstone (USA), the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Norway and finally Scotland and the Scottish Isles (I think that's everywhere) in 120 minutes. His travelogue featured shots of birds, mammals, the occasional reptile and a few unlucky insects.

Last week we had Guy and Paula Davies entertaining us with their "Double Act" featuring various photographic subjects and styles. We saw some lovely prints which always makes a pleasant change from digital projection.

Finally, the recent "Wild Wood" Project Night gallery has now been expanded by additional images. Enjoy.

York Photographic Society meet every Wednesday between September and May at the Poppleton Centre. We always welcome visitors and new members. There is ample, free parking behind the centre. Tea and coffee is served (usually) halfway through the evening's proceedings and we (always) retire to the bar at the Poppleton Centre afterwards for a chinwag.
