Some more on flash photography

Following on from Russell Watkins's talk on flash last night, here are a few images that he's supplied that were taken during his demonstration. Russell has also provided a PDF that is freely downloadable from the Photography Techniques page under Resources in the Main Menu or you can click this link to go directly to the PDF.

He's added some material that explains some of the concepts that he talked about and has included the images below in the PDF too. Eric has asked us to pass on that you were a lovely audience.

So that's a bit of revision for you. If YPS member wants to try out any of Russell's triggers or adapters & leads, let him know and he'll bring them along and show you a few tricks if you bring your camera and flash too.

Next week (29th October), we are hosting Peter Yeo who will be giving a talk entitled, "Beyond Somewhere Else". He'll be bringing along a selection of prints produced on Fotospeed papers. Read about Peter and his work here.

Don't forget that for YPS Members, an important date is fast approaching - as well as the talk by Peter Yeo, next week (29th October) is the deadline for both the Digital Image and the John Saville Rosebowl Competitions.

The full Competition Rules are here; pay particular attention to Sections 2, 5 and 8 for how to submit and name your digital images for competition purposes. Last year's winning and commended entries can be found under "Competition Images" on the Main Menu.

York Photographic Society - the first camera club to be established in York -  meet at the Poppleton Centre on Wednesday evenings from September to May. The Poppleton Centre is easily accessible and there is ample free parking. Tea & coffee is served during or after the meeting and there is a bar at the centre where we have a bit of a social chit-chat after the meeting closes.
