This is a gallery with a difference. This is Anthony Emmott's panel for which he was awarded the prestigious Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS). Here are Anthony's comments on his experience:
The Royal Photographic Society aims to promote the best in photography in the UK and internationally and awards distinctions to photographers as decided by a panel of senior members of the Society. I was delighted to be awarded the Licentiateship (LRPS) recently and I am pleased to show my panel of 10 photographs which I submitted as prints. I have tried to include many images which are among my favourites and as is required by the Society’s brief they demonstrate a range of techniques and subject types.
It was great fun assembling this group of images, trying to get a balance within the panel so that they look pleasing when hung together. I can recommend the RPS Distinctions; it is very gratifying to be awarded something by one’s peers and I hope more people will have a go. I want to thank Leigh Preston, Paul Foley, Pat and John Reed and of course [my wife] Carol for their encouragement and advice. I have now set my sights on the Associateship (ARPS).
