This is the website of York Photographic Society, York's longest established photography club and indeed one of Britain's earliest photographic societies. New members are always welcome to this thriving, friendly and energetic camera club.

The first YPS competition of the 2016-17 Season - for projected digital images - was held on November 30th 2016 and expertly judged by Roger Poyser. There were nearly 100 entries from 25 members to this year's competition and as usual, the standard was extremely high. There were some stunning images and. Roger certainly had his work cut out, especially as he was also judging the John Saville Rosebowl on the same night.

The winner this year was John Shepherd who captured this marmalade hover fly in this striking shot "Marmalade Hoverfly near Scabious".
