This is the website of York Photographic Society, York's longest established photography club and indeed one of Britain's earliest photographic societies. New members are always welcome to this thriving, friendly and energetic camera club.

Many thanks to our judge, Harry Kingman, for his expertise and critical appraisal of our black and white prints. We were treated to over 50 beautiful and thought provoking images. The overall winner was Neville Turton’s picture entitled, “Golden eagle, Balkan mountains” Harry particularly liked the way the eagle was turned to the left but its eye was looking directly at the camera.

In second place was Antony Ward’s picture “Northern gannet” and in third Mary Chatburn “Northern skies

Three images were highly commended, Mike Blackman “The stalker”, Rebecca Johnson ”Because it's there” and Alison Taylor “Lone tree at Norber erratics”

Also three pictures were commended Alison Taylor’s “100”, Allan Highet’s “Lenticular cloud over the Jungfrau” and Chris Harts “Teesmouth”
