York Photographic Society

13th December Annual Auction with mince pies and sausage rolls

This is the website of York Photographic Society, York's longest established photography club and indeed one of Britain's earliest photographic societies. New members are always welcome to this thriving, friendly and energetic camera club.

We are immensely grateful to Henrietta Byrne who was our judge for this competition and also the judge for the Leatt Cup. Her comments about the images were extremely helpful and constructive. In all she had a total 0f 100 pictures from the two competitions to judge for the night.

The winner of the Improvers Competition was Tom Lawson. His image of a Lesser Flamingo impressed Henrietta, she particularly liked the way the colour of the flamingo was reflected in the foreground water.

In second place was Sarah Nicholson with “Dawn on the Bridge”

Tom Lawson also picked up third prize with his picture of a starling

Four members’s pictures were highly commended, “Brotherly Love” by Jen Todman, “Misty Morning” and “Jay” both by Ian Smith, and “Sink or ….” by Nancy Waters.
